Frequently Asked Questions
Can I view the conference agenda such that talk times appear in my own timezone?
Yes, in the timetable in Indico, you can change the time zone at the top right of the webpage.
How will I access the talks and posters?
You will access the conference talks via a ZOOM webinar link that you will be sent via email. The invite will be sent to the email address that you entered when you registered. You will access the posters via a poster webpage that will be made available before the conference. We will also have a virtual reality (VR) forum for the poster sessions. Access information to the VR will be emailed to you.
Can I adjust how the presentation and the speaker appear in my ZOOM window?
Yes, at the top of your ZOOM window, click on “View Options”. As an example, you can select “Side-by-Side Mode” if you would prefer to see the speaker’s video on the side of the presentation as opposed to at the top. You can also click on the dashed box at the top right of your ZOOM screen to be able to move around and resize the speaker’s video window. Click ESC to get out of this full screen view.
How do I ask a question of a speaker?
Please use the Q&A box at the bottom of your ZOOM screen to ask questions of the speaker. Please treat this like you would asking a question during an in-person conference. If selected by the session chair, your question along with your name will be read out loud by the chair. If the session chair did not get a chance to ask your question, please use the the dedicated #talk_session in N2020 Slack channel, with session as marked on the Indico, to interact with the speaker of a given session after their talk.
Can I chat with other participants in ZOOM?
No, the chat feature is not available for the Neutrino 2020 conference webinar, however, we encourage you to please use the Neutrino 2020 Slack channel to converse with other conference participants.
I lost (or I have unstable) internet and I am having trouble connecting to the conference. Do I have any other connection options?
Yes, but please be advised about additional possible cost. You can join the conference via phone, but please note that you may be charged by your phone carrier depending on your phone plan and those charges may grow quickly. As a default, you are encouraged to join the conference via an internet connection from your computer. The ZOOM connection is typically more stable via computer than by phone.
I missed a talk (or it was presented at an inconvenient time for me) during the live Zoom session of the conference, do I have any other opportunities to hear it?
Yes, talks delivered during the live Zoom sessions are recorded and posted to Indico so that you can listen to them at your convenience later.
