19th Hadron Collider Physics Symposium 2008

May 27-31 2008

To encourage more scientific contributions to the conference, especially from young physicists, there will be a poster session. Interested parties are encouraged to submit abstracts for the poster session and to indicate their interest at the time of registration. The conference organizers will make decisions on the acceptance of abstracts, in the event that too many are submitted for this session.
Write-ups of the accepted contributions will appear in the final Proceedings of the Symposium. Physicists interested in contributing to the scientific program with posters, are requested to submit a brief abstract, 120 words or 15 lines maximum length, either by using the Poster Session Abstract area available on the Registration Form, or sending mail directly to Kevin Burkett. The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended to May 15, 2008.

Instructions for poster presenters

  • There is no specific format required for the posters. However, due to the mounting requirements of the posters, they should be no more than 4' (~120 cm) wide.

  • The Poster Sessions will be held in the Eagle Ridge III ballroom located in the main Inn. Most posters will be mounted on a freestanding "'Y" configured Velcro display board, providing 6 display areas of 2 panels each. Each panel is approximately 4' (120 cm) wide. A 4' (120cm) high poster will sit at the presenters waist or a little lower. The remainder of the posters will be mounted on the walls of the ballroom.

  • The display boards will be available for the mounting of posters on Wednesday morning, May 28, after 9:00 a.m. Small Velcro dots will be provided for use in mounting your poster to the display board. If it is necessary to use the walls of the ballroom for additional posters, "T" pins and/or push pins will be provided.

DO NOT use glue/staples/tape on the display boards (grey panels). Only the Velcro can and should be used, or the display boards will be damaged.

  • Presenters should plan to put up their posters at any time after Wednesday, at 9:00 a.m. so that all the posters are up for the poster session on Friday, May 30.

  • Assignments of poster locations will be made in advance. Each display area will be numbered and a numbered list of poster titles with presenters' names will be available (and posted) in the Eagle Ridge III ballroom. Information on poster locations will be given at registration. Presenters should proceed to post their poster at the designated location. Presenters in need of assistance should contact Kevin Burkett through the conference Secretariat.

  • Presenters should be available at their poster display during the poster session (5:30 pm to 7:30 pm) to answer questions.

  • Posters will remain on display until Saturday, May 31, at 9:00 a.m. We urge presenters to remove their posters before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday or make arrangements for a colleague to pick up their poster prior to that time. Any poster not removed by 9:00 a.m. will be taken taken to the Fermilab Conference Office where it will be stored until June 8 and, if not claimed, disposed of on June 9.

  • To claim your these poster after the conference is over, please send e-mail to Suzanne Weber (sweber@fnal.gov,)
