From Jurgen.Schukraft@cern.ch Mon Dec 17 02:12:14 2007 Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2007 09:05:54 +0100 From: Jurgen Schukraft To: Richard Keith Ellis Subject: RE: Request for advice on program Dear Keith, overall an interesting and nice program. Concerning the heavy ion part, I have the following comments: - AS MM suggested, keep the 3 HI talks together, followed by the forward physics talk. - The session is rather short with 1.5 hours (less than 1/2 what it was at Elba). If one wants to include, in addition, some information on the Atlas/CMS heavy ion programs, one would have to add ca 20 min (presumably for a combined talk ?). So while I am in favour of MM's suggestion to include ATLAS/CMS, I would not find it reasonable to squeeze the complete LHC HI experimental program into 30 minutes at a conference where LHC is a main focus.. Attached please find a draft outline of the program. I would be pleased to receive your comments on the outline of the program especially in the following areas. 1) General comments on the outline. 2) Suggestions for theoretical speakers. 3) Suggestion for experimental and theoretical summary speakers. 4) (Experimental speakers are typically controlled by the collaborations, but please feel free to comment), Your comments on the outline of the program will be most useful if they are received by December 31, 2007. Best wishes, Keith Ellis
