From karl.jakobs@uni-freiburg.de Mon Jan 14 02:27:27 2008 Date: Mon, 14 Jan 2008 09:27:23 +0100 From: Karl Jakobs To: R. Keith Ellis Subject: Re: Request for advice on program Dear Keith, here some first comments on the layout of the programme. I think it looks very good, nicely balanced. Some comments: - On the ATLAS / CMS talks: -------------------------------------- I will meet with Paris a.s.a.p. (hopefully this week). I have contacted him already. We could decide on the split between ATLAS and CMS, then I suggest to give the list of ATLAS / CMS talks to the respective speaker committees and work together with them to select the speaekers from the Collabroation. (me for ATLAS, Paris for CMS) - S8.4: Do your really want to assign this talk to an LHCb speaker?? The major upgrade projects are happening in ATLAS and CMS and I thought that it would natural to have an ATLAS or a CMS speaker. Some comments / proposal of speakers: ----------------------------------------------------- S1.1. all three are fine, I would have a slight pref for Pier or Young-Kee S2.1: Campbell before Krauss (Frank is also a good choice) S2.3: maybe at ".. for Searches" to the title. S3.1: Sacha Glazov gives good talks (I think he is from DESY, rather than SACLAY) S3.2: I guess this is a Tevatron speaker, or not ?? S 3.3: I would give this one to a HERA speaker. Tev is well represented and this is one of the last occasdions for HERA speakers to give talks. Diffraction is one of their domains S3.6 and S4.6: point out that ATLAS and CMS potentials need to be covered as well. S4.1: Silvestrini, Nierste or Bigi S 5.4: I would prefer Heinemeier or Stockinger. (Weiglein of course is good but maybe younger, less setlled people, should get prefs- S7.1: Oleari or Spira S8.3: very competent and good speakers from ATLAS on this subject are: Armin Nairz (CERN) or Alexei Klimentov (BNL) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- Tha't is for now.... more later Karl R.
